Scale Paper Models - Model building #2
Starting the model:
a. Parts are usually numbered in order of assembly and you start from assembly of the skeleton,
those parts (thin paper in the booklet) you cut out and glue on cardboard of rquired thickness or you can glue whole page (if all of them are to be the same thickness) on the cardboard and then cut out.
b. Look for the * or ** in the instruction - this will tell you the thikness 0.5; 1.0; 2.0 or 3.0mm needed.
c. To cut use scalpel or stanley knife and steel ruler.
d. Look for spots marked with "W" or scissors, those are openings which need to be cut out too (some of them you will need to cut out after assembly).
e. If you gluing larger surfaces use slow drying glue and press with a heavy book until dry.
f. When assemble try dry before applying glue.
g. Left side is marked "L" and right "P" (Polish models).
h. Leave glued skeleton to dry well before going any further.

Glues to use
1. For a slow drying glue you can use any kid's craft glue - liquid one, something you can easily spread evenly in thin layer.
to spread use small paintbrush or spatula.
2. For a fast drying I would recommend "Helmar" 450 stainless adhesive (50g tube)
http://www.helmar.com.au/
(can be found in K-mart or BigW)
to glue use toothpick or match
